Willie Coleman

The South East Board are saddened to learn of the passing of our former Board member, Willie Coleman.
it’s hard to describe the mark Willie left on gaelic games in this region & beyond, but his CV just shows how well thought of & respected he was. A Development Officer of the South East Board, our delegate to the Cork County Board & lastly the President of his adopted but beloved Ballinhassig. From meeting Willie you could just sense he left his mark & his wonderfully honest opinion to those he met in all his dealings.
Willie served as a member of An Garda Síochána for 30 years & for many we recall his time in the petrol station up the Liberty Hill. Many from all clubs would stop in to meet Willie & replay every ball that was kicked or pucked the weekend before.
To his wife Patsy & his children, Billy, Christine, Frances & John we extend our sympathies at this time.
Ar Dheis de go raibh a anam.
