Courcey Rovers retained their Good Fish Co SE JHC when they finished strongly to see off the strong challenge from Tracton in an exciting final, which was played yesterday afternoon in Shanbally.

Tracton led at half-time 0-12 to 1-8, the goal coming from Terrance Collins, but Courcey’s had moved four points ahead by the 43rd minute. Tracton responded well, points from Gearoid Kingston, Kieran Lynch and David Griffin reduced the deficit to the minimum, while Courcey’s keeper Timmy Keating produced a superb save from Sean Kiely to keep his side ahead.

But in a strong finish, Courcey’s had goals from Jack O’Reilly and Liam Collins and a point from man of the match award winner Gavin Moloney to seal their victory. Gearoid Kingston had a late goal for Tracton, but the title stayed in Ballinaspittle.
